Peridot Capital Management's Founder and President

Peridot Capital Management is run by Chad Brand, a manager of personal and family investment assets since 1992. After the 2000-2002 bear market depleted many investors' brokerage accounts, the outrage among individuals was overwhelming. Most of the disgust was aimed at mutual fund managers and stock brokers who had gotten carried away with technology stocks and had abandoned crucial investment disciplines such as diversification and careful valuation analysis. In 2002, Mr. Brand founded Peridot Capital Management in order to open his knowledge base and portfolio management skills to those outside of his family. Chad received his bachelor's degree in finance from Washington University in St. Louis and has passed both the NASD Series 7 General Securities Representative exam and the Series 65 Uniform Investment Advisor exam. Prior to managing money full-time, he worked in the corporate finance department at Express Scripts, Inc (Nasdaq:ESRX), a $20 billion per year healthcare services and management company.

Chad has been featured in various business publications, including a March 2006 front page story in The Wall Street Journal which discussed the future prospects for Google, the internet search giant. In late 2008, Brand was included in the BusinessWeek Annual Investment Outlook issue, where he highlighted worldwide beer leader Anheuser Busch InBev (OTC: AHBIF) as a bargain in the depressed equity market. Chad has also spoken regularly at the University of Missouri (Columbia) Business School, as a guest lecturer to both undergraduate and MBA level students.

Chad was a weekly columnist for StreetSideInvestor.com in the late 1990's and began publishing his own investment blog in 2004. In fact, The Peridot Capitalist has been named one of the best investment blogs in the U.S. by several media sources and Brand has done interviews regarding various companies and industries with the likes of Reuters, Bloomberg, Business Week, and Forbes. Chad's blog is often referenced on various investment web sites including Google Finance, Forbes.com, SeekingAlpha.com, TheDeal.com, TheStreet.com, and Yahoo! Finance.
